The next screen will display the Deployment Type.It may be helpful to at least name the subfolder SASHome regardless of which drive you use for the installation. Use the default SAS Home such as: c:\Program Files\SASHome or select a different disk drive name or folder. The next screen will prompt for the installation folder called the “SAS Home”.Select the Install SAS Software option and click the Next> button.Select English as the language and click OK.The SAS Deployment Wizard 9.4 should start up: Navigate to the SAS 9.4 folder and run the setup.exe program. The necessary files should be located in the SAS 9.4 Folder of your SAS Software Depot as shown below:.While the inclusion of this JRE simplifies installation of SAS EM, it is important to keep in mind this version remains “as is” on the computer even if the other JREs installed are updated. SAS Enterprise Miner 14.1 uses JRE 1.7 and installs a private copy of JRE 1.7 within the SASHome folders. When Sun/Oracle dropped support for JRE 1.6, we had to manually configure SAS EM to use a different JRE which was problematic when new updates to the JRE took place. Prior versions of SAS Enterprise Miner had installed a private copy of JRE version 1.6. Running SAS EM requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to be installed. SAS Enterprise Miner is written in the Java programming language. As is typical with other installs, it is best if you do not have any other programs running while installing SAS EM. If you just need to update the SAS License, skip to the last page of this article.
As with all SAS products, you should obtain a valid SAS license to continue to use the products. Other versions of SAS you may have should be uninstalled prior to installing SAS EM. The minimum requirements for this installation are a Windows 7 PC with at least 4GB of RAM (8GB or more would be much better) and at least 20GB of free hard disk space.
